Gentlemen,
I have been looking at many different threads about external powersupply mods and the like for the SL1200. There is no lack of choice on how to do it!
My immediate reaction to the project is to use all the original bits, but to relocate the transformer, diodes, and a single filter capacitor in it's own chassis. This would entail removing the diode bridge and patching into the table's PCB just barely upstream of the existing first filter capacitor.
Or, even easier, just put the transformer in the separate case and run the low-voltage AC into the sock location.
Has anybody done this or something similar? A brief synopsis of your experience or links would be greatly appreciated.
