The reason I chortled is due to it being quite close to the bone. Back in the late 80's I acquired an Oak turntable fitted with an ADC tonearm (anyone remember them?). I think Oak where the first to use an MDF platter. Anyway, when it worked it was a good sounding TT but unfortunately that wasn't often. Over the short period I owned it I needed to re-solder various dry joints, replace the motor and umpteen drive belts (they were prone to snapping). I often considered smashing it up in frustration... :lol:
