Sorry......I used to subscribe many years ago, and still get e mail notifications, hence this post.

Currently they are asking for nominations for kit that has floated your boat in 2012, so, as it was the Stan Dac Bushmaster that did it for me, I voted for it, could I ask that you do the same if you love yours as much as I do mine (come on Jerry! :lol:)

It seems like there are more votes for the SBT than anything else, and many have said about how easy it is to use..........wait until it throws a wobbly and then say the same thing!!! :eyebrows:

The kitchen one wouldn't output any sound at all and needed a factory reset, and there's been a niggle or two with the main one, thankfully within my capabilities. :)

FWIW, What Hifi being a comic an' all, I'd second all Squeezeboxes - the Touch being the best so far (and I have a Transporter to compare it to). The past seven or eight years since I bought my first Squeeze device have transformed the way I listen to music. There are undoubtedly more "polished" devices around now, and the Logitech buyout of Slim Devices did nothing to enhance the street-cred of the things. But on bang-for-your buck basis the devices have always been up there with the best.

My Touch now has a Paul Hynes PS, and a Metrum Octave DAC (with an Audio-gd Digital Interface thrown in for good measure), and digital sound is the best it's ever been. </gets off soapbox> :lol:

Incidentally, does anyone else bemoan the passing of the SB Boom. A silly (Logitech) name for an awesome sounding "table radio", with an output for a sub-woofer if you want more bass over the already pretty full DSP driven sound. The one is my kitchen is the most used of the five SB devices in the house (proper ones, not counting iPhones and iPads). The SB Radio is more stylish, but a rather anemic substitute IMO . . .

So as a life long pacifist I just do my utmost to ignore WHF.

Their only saving grace, IMHO, was when they said nice things about one of The mighty Mr Beresford's DACs.

Sneaked a look at the review in W.H.Smiths, but apart from this I wouldn't even admit to ever having read it !
