Guys

Building my own speakers at the mo, I originally had the crossovers in Aluminium enclosures but I've been told this is not good, because it's metallic.

However Aluminium is an alloy and I've been advised to keep the crossovers in the Aluminium cases as it will help re RFI, I've also been advised to star ground the case by running a wire from the case to the -ve speaker input.

Any advice welcome

I have seen crossovers in aluminium cases, wooden case and no case at all too. I would not worry too much as you could try it with and without to see if you have a preference?

If you are putting the crossover together by yourself and you are also drawing up the layout of the PCB, then consider putting the various coils at a 90 degrees angle to its nearest neighbour. Also make sure that you are using fibreglass PCB.
Try silver or gold/silver solder. PCOCC wiring is preferred to OFC, but keep in mind that PCOCC is directional.
