Mastering, a form of audio post-production, is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio from a source containing the final mix to a data storage device (the master); the source from which all copies will be produced (via methods such as pressing, duplication or replication).

No one like my project system. :eyebrows:
It's alwight :D
Looking at the tiny speakers reminds me of a little York cassette, amp and speaker based separates system I owned back in the late 80's. It consisted of a neat little slot loading Dolby B/C cassette deck, a wee pre and power amp and a titchy pair of speakers exactly like yours in the pic except they had metal grills. The power amp was rated at 45wpc and all the components were solidly encased in quality extruded alu cabs. Each component was about ten inches wide and about two and a half tall and despite the diminutive dimensions the power amp weighed in at over 12lbs. A four inch woofer and a 1 inch dome tweeter were housed in each of the heavy, cast alu speaker cabs. Obviously they weren't bass meisters but the system as a whole delivered great dynamics and imaged like a demon. In fact I can honestly say that it was the best cassette based system I have ever heard. Oh, and it looked the bollocks too... ;)

In your opinion could you tell the Arcam/MF from the Denons into the same speakers blindfolded ?
Would be interesting :eyebrows:
How come the speakers are on their sides?

Pictures will be uploaded soon.
So far the wharfedales a doing a good job. they have a nice balanced sound. More suited to rock music. i Have the on foundation stands. I think i will settle with this for the time being as its a nice little system for the radio too. They speakers are the black ash version with no marks to the cabinets. They are rated my Gramophone so can't be all bad some rated these best balenced speakers for under £200 in 1987/8. I like them.
Dan, it might provoke more responses/interest if you were to give your take on the system, it's strengths and weaknesses, what you like about it, why you like the particular sound it gives, which music suits it's best etc etc.

Hooked up the trio ka 7100 this morning after months of being sat in the lounge. On play test for a day with the mini teacs this is a good performer in reasonable condition but working.

Quality amps those, I've had 2! I slightly prefer the KA-701 but only just.
Loads of power, silky smooth controls & the largest 3d soundstage from any 70's amplifier I've heard... Nice find.

That picture doesn't really do justice to what a beast that amp actually is (and what gorgeous condition it's in too, to Pete's credit).
You should do a picture with it intimidating a small woodland animal or sommit ;-))

They don't build 'em like that anymore, what a lovely thing that is. Nice one Dan... ;)
