The bass drivers may be mid-80's Wharfedale units. I haven't a clue about the tweeters...

but the tweeters arnt the same

and thus also found the model of the orignal ones could be Goodmans Eleganzia II but again the drivers match but tweeters don't !

They certainly look like Godmans drivers, but couldn't say which model.

Possibly Radford, made by Goodmans.

But 4 Ohm?

Definitely Goodmans and I would say the bass and midrange drivers from a pair of Goodwoods.

my understanding is goodmans only sold their better speakers seperately after the late 50's,

i would guess these where made for boxes, so wont be a particular model of driver.
i have a 65 cataloge and price list.... there is no 10" drivers at all.. and the magnet is small for the time to sell seperately.

They are definitely Goodmans. I have owned several versions of this ten inch bass driver which were used in various Goodmans speaker systems and the same goes for the midrange unit and they were also used by other maufacturers as OEM units. As suggested, these may be from a Radford speaker as the marked impedance is 4ohm and I believe some of the Radford designs used 4ohm units. There was even an ABR version (no magnet) used in the Goodmans Dimension 8 model.

The various Mezzo models did not use a midrange unit and the smaller driver shown is a midrange driver, not a tweeter.

Both drives are from a pair of late 1960's HMV 2406 (Goodmans) Speakers.

Pretty sure they are from Goodmans Goodwoods or the 2 way Mezzo, going by the cutout on the side of the bass driver.

These are my HMV 2406's and they look pretty similar.

Goodmans supplied drivers to no end of manufacturers and those in the HMV cabinets are definitely Goodmans drivers.

By the way, are those Ditton 44s, or late 25s in the photo? I'm guessing 25s (and I spotted that Rogers Cadet at the bottom).

Your right on both accounts, they are 25's with a Cadet II. To my ears the HMV's sound like the Celestions without the thundering Bass you get from the 25's. The HMV's are a really nice sounding speaker once you take out the large slab of foam out and put them on 18" stands, they seem to sound better with valves but are still quite impressive with my Sugden A21 or Quad 303.
