Sorry for starting a new 15" MG topic but I would have a quick question and I could not find the answer so far. Also it is not directly related to MG15 but probably to other loudspeakers as well.
I know it is a dumb question but due to the rare nature and high price of the MGs I would not like to destroy them.
So my question is:
What happens if I change the polarity of the drivers either on the driver itself or the speaker connections on the amp or on the back of the Lanaster enclosures?
How can I check the correct polarity in the crossovers?

Nothing except if you do it on only one speaker they will run out of phase. An easy way to check both are the same is to use a small battery, say a AA. Strip a couple of bits of wire and attach to your speaker binding posts. Touch the other ends to the battery terminals momentarily and watch the speaker cones to see if they move in or out. Then check the other speaker keeping the polarity the same as the first. If the cone of the second speaker moves in the same direction as the first, the speakers are in phase. If not, you need to swap the speaker cable connection on one of the cabinets to bring the pair back in phase.

The problem is that these big speakers are screwed to the front baffle from the back and the front is covered so I have to unscrew the cabinet back panel then to unscrew the speakers to check. So far I did not have time to check it.
I reversed the polarity of the speakers wire and it sounded different.
I might ask a professional to check if the tweeter and woofer are in phase and if they are connected right.
