How important is visual audio to you ?
Personally I like my system to look good as well as sound the best for the price I can afford to pay
May sound strange but out of choice I would not be happy with odd colour components / amps / tuner / CD etc
I like most things to be subtle and not in your face
Currently my stands ( Audio and speaker ) are black with silver separate components with matching silver cased speakers and a silver and black TT :D
So do you think I am :mental:
I used to like it all to match, but not so bothered now - as long as it sounds good that's all that really matters - none of my kit is especially attractive, and together it is all a bit of a mish-mash to look at!!
I like to keep the lights low so you cannot see the mess - or the boxes ;)

I just hid my belkin mains doobry behind the rack as it was the only silver component ... I'm not so bothered, but the missis likes it neat and looking good!

Customers rarely comment on the looks or finish of equipment - it's the speakers which are often the sticking point. Especially with the ladies.
I like it all to have a similar aesthetic -but I wouldn't choose a component just because it looks good (though some certainly do, even if they tell themselves otherwise).
Didnt used to be bothered but recently specified my new Rega bits had to be all black.
Whilst looks are not the most important thing I do think nicely matching components have a certain wow factor to them.
I must admit occasionaly I look at some of the pictures of peoples kit here and then look at my pile of wires, open circuit boards and black speaker enclosures more at home in a studio and think I really ought to try to make this stuff look better................then I start listening and think...aww fuck it, it sounds okay and Sunny hasn't complained that it's difficult to dust or the neighbours are talking.
Basically how it looks is way down my list of priorities.

Looking at my racks, obviously I don't care. Luckily, no one puts up a fuss. (It wouldn't matter if they did. ;) )

It's good if things individually are nice to look at, but given that I try & keep all of it away in a different room (except speakers & power amps), I don't really give a toss if it all matches or not - & thinking a bit more about this, nor do I care at the moment, while it's temporarily all in the same room & in front of me.
I listen with my eyes shut, so the conglomeration of different size/colour boxes doesn't bother me.
Don't talk to me about looks, I've got Croft ! Beautifully understated I like to think ! My baby Harbs. are true beauties though :-)

I have so much gear coming and going I'm not at all fussed if it matches.
There is a pride of ownership thing about impressive looking kit, though. But it doesn't make me hang on to anything!
I do give it (some) consideration, but its only how it sounds that really matters to me. I have had comments about my 'fuggly' old fashioned looking speakers, but I just laugh and then play them...... then I get different comments ;)
So no, appearance isn't an issue with me.
The blue LED lights make all the difference;)
