Are these really £9,000?

Looks like a Fostex 208 Sigma in BLH cab with a compression loaded HF driver. If that is the price, what is the wood!?

Baltic birch plywood, in this example with a Walnut veneer.
Driver is as you correctly say a (modified) Fostex unit, tractrix horn is constructed from epoxy compound.

Ok, thanks.

I built some of the Fostex design BLH cabs for the 208 Sigma using BBP. Heavy...about 10 stone.

These weigh in at 42kg each, I can shift them about myself if I've had my weetabix.

Ha ha, I like that:lol:

Mine are on casters!

Good idea! I have some huge Lab12 subs which are on castors, they would be impossible to move otherwise!
With the Tune Audio though I doubt the designer Manolis would appreciate me removing his hand turned spikes and screwing on castors just to make my life easier lol.

Interesting design. Do they need close rear wall or corner loading? Presumably a few watts is sufficient to get them to strut their stuff? - what amps have you tried with them?

Hi Jerry,
Sorry for the delay I was away for a few days.
The speakers are designed to be close to walls or corners, experimentation as always is key. Here they seem to perform exceptionally sat 7 inch from the rear wall and 14 inch from the sides.
I'm currently driving them with 805 SET mono blocks on the tappings which provide 15W, they can be ran with much less though being 97db sensitive.
