View Full Version : Bose 2012 Summer catalogue
On my round today I delivered quite a few of these (well pamphlet really)
I suspect that the recipients already have a Bose Wave radio or similar. £600?
Anyone know anyone that has one of these?
Yep!
They have what was once referred to as "A Nice Tone," and if sold for their true value, which I estimate is around a third of the prices asked, would be an excellent table radio. The thing is with these, is that they're sold online/mail-order and a huge part of the profit is ploughed back into the advertising I believe. For a room filling sound like the old big mains radios or better record players we had in the 50's and 60's, I think they're actually quite effective and that is where they are in the scheme of things. Whether a Denon or Onkyo micro system would be better overall for non-critical listening, I'm not so sure...
Seems they have got their marketing well sorted.

Bose multiroom is nice... small, neat and tidy. Ask the ex-wife what it sounds like seeing as she has it in the old house
Never had the Wave radio but have listened to it and it is good. Personally I stuck to the Pure radios and have always been happy with them (I have four!!)

'Befouled' for the scat enthusiast
I was going to ask why this hadn't been posted in the audio section, but I guess that's self-explanatory!

We had a temp in the office a while back who had one. She was very happy with it and could not understand why anyone would want anything else. I notice on US sites they are advertised at $499 but no prices on the UK site ads.
My post was not intended as a Bose knocking session. That has been done to death many times (not neccessarily on this forum)
I believe that they are around the £600 mark. You pays your money and you takes your choice.
