View Full Version : The Pizza Spotter
Today I spent an extremely enjoyable few hours in the company of AndrewR, John (Cricklewood) and another whose name I am afraid escapes me.
Andrew was an excellent host and his system equally as excellent. His taste in music is impeccable, but that is no surprise as our tastes are virtually identical:D
I really liked his Audio Note AZ-Three loudspeakers. I almost forgot that I was listening to Valve amplification, so good are his 6B4G push-pull monoblocks. The combination providing great grip and real insight into the music.
I took along my modified PS1. It did not disgrace itself.
The reference to Pizza. Andrew said that he had burnt the pizza he had made (yes made, the dough....the lot!) Well the bit I had was delicious and certainly not burnt. So too was the barbequed marinaded chicken.
Thanks Andrew.
Glad you guys had a great time, sorry I couldn't make it. Any pics from the day?
Marco.
Marco. Unfortunately I forgot my camera. My phone is a toy one from Fonyvode = crap camera:(
Hi Marco,
Oh, forgot about the pics [edit, I now added some aftermath shots below :) ], such was the great time we had.
The sound from the amps have changed a lot, John who heard the previous iteration (which you heard at Scalford) confirmed the change. The response was very encouraging!
The great surprise was how good Puffin's modified Sony PS1 can sound, very insightful and similar style of presentation to an M-DAC...
Andrew
Sounds like good fun had by all. :)
Okay, here is the aftermath.

I'd better start tidying before my wife gets back!
Many thanks to John, Puffin and Larry for joining the beer/pizza/music fest.

The more burnt bits of pizza
That ain't burnt, dude... THAT is cripsy! There is a difference - it's only a little charred around the edges.
Take it from an Italian, that looks like a nice pizza. My only criticism is that there's a little too much cheese (and topping) on it, in general. In Italy, traditional pizzas only have a small amount of cheese and topping, as it's all about the quality of the base (pizza dough), and its flavour, so respect for making your own!
Marco.
That cheese was the business. Rob + more cheese = :yay:
Bet you love that 'stuffed crust' shite, too? ;)
Marco.
It was a nice day and Andrew was a great host I really liked how far Andrew amp have come along since I last heard them
His amps look awesome - something very much to be proud of! :)
Bet they sounded the biz too, eh John? They certained sounded great at Scalford, driving Steve Toy's Tannoys.
Marco.
