Hi Dave,

Thanks for popping in. So, what system do you use and what music do you like? :)

Marco.

Well all a bit old really. But really good! Cyrus and Rega front ends. Quad amps and ESL 63s smooooooooooooooooooooooth but detailed and I can and do listen for hours on end. Not into foo can hear the difference between cables but it is a difference not an improvement. The speakers make the biggest difference in my mind and until I can afford the larger Quad electrostatics the system won't change.

Music, love electronica, girls and guitars and everything in between. Not much into jazz or thrash metal but music is like food everybodys got their own taste!

Nice one Dave - welcome to AoS. "love electronica, girls and guitars and everything in between" pretty much sums my tastes up too - how about posting a few of your "spins" here (http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?t=14170) sometime?

Enjoy the forum - hope you won't be starting too many FIGHTS!

Hi Alex,

I have posted a few of the albums I have been listening to lately.

There are a few "girls and guitars" in it.

I lurve my Quad amp big time but can't imagine either a Cyrus or Rega feeding it; don't suppose I would be the first person to say that - admittedly haven't heard any of their latest gear but would have thought that they are near polar-opposites in terms of presentation. But at the end of the day it's all about system matching and what works for you ... I was told my valve-pre wouldn't work with my Quad but it's sublime in my eyes ...

The Cyrus is a 15 year old dad3Q24 with the PXR and it s detailed without being shouty, now and again it won't read a disc but if I open and close the disc drawer this seems to sort it out, I may send it to Cyrus for a new laser or just give it a damn good clean!!

Rega is the cheap and cheerfull RP1 but I ditched the cart in favour of an Ortofon 2Blue (I know it cost nearly as much as the deck) which makes some very nice noises for the price.

As you can see I am not a HIFI snob.
