A fun project. It does make you realise how difficult it would be to replicate what he's doing in anything harder than wood. Not without some very specialised equipment anyhow. I do even wonder whether this wooden plinth will be better than what the motor unit comes in as standard.
It'll be interesting to see what he ends up with & whether he likes it.
Damn.... another plan that someones beat be to! :doh:

Just found this site a couple of days ago-seems like a great bunch. Already found help on the outboard ps over at diy (thanks jonner and Dave). I've also posted more pics, and info, over there-I've made progress since these were taken.
