Any ideas what this maybe ?

I was wondering if any of you fellas may make any sense out of this?
Last week I had the fireplace put in and decided to take some before and after pics.Looking at this pic there is a white flash to the left part of the mantle piece which shouldn't be there.Any body have any ideas if the flash of the camera can cause this or should I call in the ghostbusters.:scratch:

Look at the blue,gray to white reflection on the mantel, the same colors are repeated in your anomaly, this is a reflection from the camera flash or a near by light source.

If you where to have an actual haunting the best coarse of action would be to change your address.

When I showed it to someone here they zoomed in on it and reckons there's a little face at the top part if you go in at just the right distance.
But I'll stick to the Flash theory though.:)

My two penn'orth: -
It's out of focus and consistently so all round the image so I think it's paralax - some small bit of debris on or in the lens - where's Hamish when you need him? Whatever it is, Hamish would dispel the ghost if you wanted to have a decent pic.

I too am going with the "rod" conclusion ;)

Lens flare it isn't ... At least I've never seen lens flare like that .

It looks like something cought by the flash but if it was it wouldn't be blured unless it was traveling at incredible speed ... Or out of focus
It could be something on the lens I suppose .. Maybe lit by the flash of the camera that happens to be reflecting back off an internal element ... Long shot, but it's all I got!

Bit of a creepy one that Rod idea. The idea that these are zipping about, round us etc and we can't see them until one gets caught on video or in a photo :eek:

I'm fairly sure rods are just a combination of insects and an effect of using digital video
As far as I know we don't get them in photography ...
We have "orbs" to contend with instead
