Musicraft (Derby)

My interest in specialist audio/video started in 1986 when i was looking for a Hi-Fi system. My idea of a system was that it had to look like the Starship Enterprise and have a million and one buttons and with a light show to match. As a result i was almost taken in by the many Midi systems.
Anyway my mum has always had an eye for quality so one Saturday she dragged me kicking and screaming to our local specialist Hi-Fi dealer. The walk to the shop was bad enough but to make things worse there were brands in the shop i had never heard of such as Meridian, Trio, Mission, Bose, KEF, Marantz, Quad etc. and secondly i thought they all looked as plain as dish water. I was so upset at what i was seeing that i openly said "where are all the flasing lights on the components". My comment got a chuckle from the staff and customers.
Twenty minutes or so later a member a staff put together a system which consisted of a Marantz CD player, Trio amplifier and Mission speakers. The play button was pressed and within ten seconds the game was over for me. The rest as they say is history.
After ten years as an end user i started working in the trade in 1996 and after having worked for different dealers and at various locations in the country i then made the decision and took the step to start Musicraft. The brands we support are ATC, Chord Electronics, Naim, Dynaudio, NAD, Monitor Audio, Yamaha, Grado, QED, Van Den Hul, Soundstyle, Apollo, Goldring, Atacama, Denon, Black Rhodium, Hi-Fi Racks, Rega, Plinius, Audiolab, Densen, Proac and Focal.
The two systems which i currently use (when i have time that is) are a Chord Electronics QBD76 DAC, ATC SCA2 pre amplifier, ATC SCM100ASL Professional monitors and a C6 - SCM0.1/15 sub. The other system consists of a Sony ST-SDB900 UK Edition tuner, Pioneer A-400 amplifier and Dynaudio DM 2/7 speakers. I use these systems to listen to most genre of music and movie soundtracks. I am currently listening to the Ecstasy Of Gold from the film The Good, The Bad & The Ugly.
So the bottom line is the reason i am here writing this today is because of my boss - my mum.
