Ciao Stefano,

Benvenuto a AOS :)

You have a quite phenomenal system - full of veritable gems which I have a particular passion for! I wouldn't know where to start, everything is stunning!

Do you know the 'other' Stefano, Signor Pasini? :smoking:

You both have quite similar systems.

Allora, Stefano, spero che qui ti divertirai tanto!

Marco.

Thanks for welcoming, Marco et al.... hope having good time on AoS... BTW: I noticed the average music systems quality among AoS' forumers is VERY high indeed... and not following, necessarily, "mainstream", magazines-hinted paths.

... thus, ears are working when shopping... GOOD!

I'm particularly excited to meet a fellow reel to reel fan :) and both high end machines - you're a lucky man! I'm sure we'll speak further about this :)

You're welcome, Stefano! And thanks for your comments - we're not big into 'mainstream' anything here; 'out of the box' thinking is what we promote :)

Marco.

... ooops... thanx for the compliments, BUT be careful in not being confused: Stefano is a quite common name in Italy, like Etienne in France, Stefan in Germany, Stephen or Steve in England or USA, and in "my" very own (i.e. -Stefano Bertoncello) pages, I never covered 124's related topics.

Still hope I'll deserve (some) compliments, anyway... :eyebrows:

Hi Keith... no, not yet... but trust I'll do VERY soon, thanking God, Mr. Park, David and international airmail... me and friends can't stand in our shoes if, like David B. quoted, it will prove to be superior in details retrival and timbric and spatial coherence to the already STELLAR, lysergic Lumiere DST...
... also considering these handmade little gems are very sensitive to MC irons matching...
On the matter, I ended up owning and tasting 15+ different irons, now having only 8... but just acquired a Partridge # 973 from '50s, so I'm 9 again:steam:... the actual King is, at the moment, but very solidly placed, a WE618B/Peerless 4611, then Verion/Cotter Mk 1 "PP-silver-wired"... then all the rest.
Let's see... aehm, listen to ALLNIC Verito Mc... a very clever design, nonetheless.
Last but not least, I'm waiting these weeks from a Japanese friend/artisan, a couple of hot-rod Neumann DST-like replicas which would be breathtaking, as I know my friend golden ears.

Will keep you all posted soundwise.

P.S. - thanks John! What about your outer idler/rim drive on VPI's?!?! No surprise old technology wins, isn't it?!?

P.P.S. - someway OT, but I'm posting a recent pix just arrived from a friend, shot few hours ago... http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z47/twogoodears/wideanlemusicsystemjan2009.jpg

Hi all... posting for weirdness-sake, my Lumiere DST cartridge mounted on a Kimura Labs/RS-3 rotary headshell...

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z47/twogoodears/WarholLumiere.jpg

This very design, I mean RS-3, provoked several pages thumb-ups&downs on Vinyl Engine forum, months ago... someone hates, someone can't live without anymore... it's geometrically wrong, or the under-hanging is improving trackability... who knows, I'm not the designer, nor a dealer... me and several friends with heavy, mostly conical tips carts - but not only - simply loves this audio analog weirdo - actually a Japanese Patent Appl. from early '90s.

Have a nice weekend... and a look here, at yr. convenience: http://twogoodears.blogspot.com/
