A house move demands that I find as much cash as possible and things might have to go. The first piece of hifi equipment I am thinking of selling is my mint, 9 month old MCX pre. It has it's original packaging and manual.

The sound that eminates from this pre (through MCX Monoblocks) is nothing short of magnificent - massive wide sound staging, incredible fast taught bass, beautiful un-fatiguing treble and incredibly detailed. I really don't know what I'm going to replace this with - especially if the Monoblocks are to follow being sold?!

Retail price is £4370 so if I was to sell I would be hoping to get around £3300.

I must admit that this is only the second 'used' example I have seen for sale - the first being sold (if it was actually sold by them?!) by a dubious outfit based in London that has long since gone out of business.

A pick up from south Essex/East London would be preferable but I am willing to entrust a courier with shipping (just) - £35 for this. I could drop off within a decent distance for a pre-determined fee.

Please PM me if interested. Thanks.

Rob, yes, all the other gear I've been selling has gone. I might be selling the MCX Monoblocks later!

Cheers.

Hi Chris,

Definitely not a dealer - just like to box swap (a lot!!).

Don't you have any desire to discuss the hi-fi that enters & leaves your system so regularly? That's kind of the purpose of AoS.

Now definitely for sale.

Chris - been doing the swapping all my life - since 17 years of age anyway - spent a fortune. From Rogers Ravensboune amp/Celestion Ditton 15's/ Goldring Lenco through Naim 250's & Naim pre's, Quad -all amps & preamps, Sugdens, Exposures (lots), Crofts, Electrocompaniets, EAR's etc. Isobarkis, Quad Electrostatics, KEF 105's/107's/107 Mk2's, B&W 801's, Epos ES22's, PMC IB2i's, PMC MB2i's etc etc. 3 x different Linn Sondeks, a miriad of CD players the first one I bought being the Sony CDP 101 (£475 in 1981). Enough different leads and interconnects to stretch from Manchester to London, cough ----- I could go on but I'm making myself feel a bit sick thinking of all that money I could have saved through listening to the music and not the equipment!? Got to stop soon as I will hopefully soon be a pensioner!

The sales people at Studio 99 in Swiss Cottage and KJ of Wigmore Street used to rub their haands together when they saw me coming!

Just to add. If the silver 'feet' aren't to your taste they are quite easy to remove by the use of a small allen key!

Hi Fabrizio,

I think the mods would like you to introduce yourself in the the 'Welcome' part of the forum - only take a few minutes!

I have sent you a private message replying to your offer on the MCX. No problems sending to Italy by the way.

I'm just doing a bit of experimenting at the moment (different pre's and powers), but I would imagine the MCX will be available pretty soon.

Regards,

G.
