Just fitted a new external psu and it sounds great. I have noticed however that I have a problem with start up. The red light on the Techie flickers and the turntable doesn't start for a good few attemps now as if there's a short maybe. I did have to solder a couple of bits as normal - Any ideas? Could it be a solder issue ?
Go back over what you did, check the wiring is correct, there are no solder splashes and re-from the joints you made, you could have a dry joint.

Suggest you double check the earth tag to the PCB for tightness and continuity.

Thanks guys, will get the platter off and have another look when i get in from work this evening. I basically screwed down the negative cable to the bottom left of the pcb as we've been directed but didn't solder that bit or add a circular tag thing, just screwed the bare wire down firmly and neatly. Will look at that again. Also my solder joins of the earth and positive cables were probably a bit blobbish.
