A 1GB stick of SODIMM DDR2 667Mhz (PC2-5300) Laptop memory Samsung branded. Taken from my netbook to stick something bigger in.
A fiver posted anywhere in the UK. This has been sitting on my desk since I set my netbook up as the music server and it is looking forlorn!

Just as a matter of interest Brian, what does your laptop use? I have various old RAM chips lying around, so if I have one that fits you can have it gratis.

DDR333 PC2700 SODIMM's - OK, I will have a look here and check to see if we have any old ones at work that are ready for the bin. If not you should get one for around 20 quid. But try and sort if before buying more, with some help you should be able to just run a media player and nothing else on XP with 512 if configured correctly. I would prefer more personally, but there is no reason why it shouldn't run in all honesty.

Sorry for thread crapping a bit Graham

Oh don't worry about it Tim, if anyone wants it, it's in the bin at the bottom of my garden along with all the PC and Printer RAM.
