Looking for a well sorted (i.e. in good nick/loving owner) mid-priced turntable with or without arm for a second system - prefer slightly retro look (notts analogue/systemdeck/401/xerxes/michell) with nice wooden plinth or smooth japanese (technics/denon/micro seiki/ quality Pioneer) deck - please PM me with anything you may have for around £500 - thanks

EDIT - NOW SORTED - Thanks to all for your help.

HiFi dave has summat of mine for under £100 which sounds pretty good in stock form and can be well tuned up with new feet (Vantage Audio) and an additional mat on top of the stock one! The arm is perfect for the better MM's and mid price MC types too...

Despite the bargain price it really does sound good, has been well serviced and I'm only asking him to sell it for me because he has better access to couriers and I really don't need it at the moment, what with a Thorens 160 and two Lenco GL78's in various degrees of dismantled state...

Dave thanks for the post. I will consider that one although I think I have found a nice Denon DL-59 (nice bit of Japanese bling in rosewood finish) from a nice gent.

BTW I pulled out my lovely Proac Response 3's in walnut which I bought from your shop in the early 1990's and gave them a run the other day - they had been ousted by something a bit more exotic in the last few years - but they still sound great.

I almost bought a Hyperspace from you at the time but sadly I didn't proceed with the T/T purchase but I remember how natural it sounded and have always hankered after one but they are now rather pricey (for my particular needs) even second hand (not unsurprisingly given how good they are).

Wrong Dave..

Led Zep is selling his Notts Horizon for £200, which is quite a bargain. Fit that with an RB250 or RB300 and you've got a seriously good turntable for notta lotta cash.

whoops yes the wrong Dave - apologies to both Dave's!

and thanks "Dave" for the mention of Ledzep's (I hope there aren't two of him as well) Horizon which I had seen and for managing to work in both "Notts" and "notta" in the same post.

thank you all for the offers and suggestions

The Horizon should be better straight off and as this make of decks gets such amazing sound from Rega arms - they really do sing on NAS decks in a way they don't on others - I'd bite his hand off - got to be worth a couple of hundred notes, surely?
