Apologies for being late and i hope ive got the link correct this time.
This is the first album from Simone Felice band The Duke and the King which is about three years old and an album i play a lot. Better than anything the Felice brothers have done in my opinion and a band i have to see live one day.

Colin - before we start commenting, could you please give us a little more insight as to why you like this album and band, and how you first came across them?

I love American folky stuff if it has a bit of soul to it. The Felice brothers were more interseting to me than say Fleet Foxes who are a modern CSN&Y to my ears but leaves me cold after a few plays. When Simone Fleece left his brothers and produced this album i had to try it. To me its a modern classic and the 2nd album was also very good. The guy had a major heart problem 2 years ago and almost died. If you happen to see The Duke and the King playing in your manor i think you should try and catch them.

I have this and I'm a fan of Simone Felice, his new album its tremendous. I managed to catch him live a few weeks back, in a very small venue where he was only a foot or two from me.... a superb night and Simone gives his all when playing live, its obvious his first solo album (self titled) is extremely personal to him. I have plugged it a couple of times in the Spinning Today thread as well.

I last played this album a few weeks ago and will play it again tonight, but I already know its a good album :)

Can you add some voting options Colin?

You'll need a mod to set it up, the option is there when you post a new thread.

This is very pleasant to listen to. Sound quality from Spotify in high bit rate mode (via the Bushmaster) is really very good with some real depth to the soundstage. I guess it could be accused of being 'samey' as you progress through the album, but then I suspect that it also grows on you. 5/7 for me.

LOL, only 7 choices....?

Well its worth more than 'Very Nice' so I will have to give it 7/7. Out of 10 it would have got 8 ;)

Simone Felice's voice does grow on you Martin. Try his S/T album.... I don't think its on Spotify though.

Don't ask :rfl:

I will listen to it again but right now I have a pile of CDs and Blu-rays to watch/listen to.
