So, Europe already owns and runs the Very Large Telescope (VLT) in South America (headquarters in Germany) and now they are proposing to build an even bigger one, the imaginatively named Extremely Large Telescope (ELT). So, the question is: What should the next in line be called?
For myself I propose the Positively Humongous Antipodean Telescope (PHAT)

I heard something last week about a proposed project called The Square Kilometer Array (SKA) which will be in S. Africa and Australia.
