Hello from France

Hi there,

happy to join the community, to talk about our passion, music, and my obsession : high fidelity...
According to me, it is always a good thing to relax, stop thinking about the next piece of equipment i could afford and listen to music... But it is not so easy :)

I listen mainly to acoustic music, folk, light indie rock, jazz (Bill Evans and Scott LaFaro!!!) and classical (baroque oratorio).

My main system is Linn KDS, SME 30/2A + Soundsmith StrainGauge cartridge, Cary Audio SLP05 and 805AE, Tannoy Kensington SE. This system really throw me into the artists performance, with good recordings, the artists are just here with me...

I'm now building a second system around a rega P5, denon 103 and lowther speakers.

Wow - SME 30/2 with Soundsmith strain-gauge cartridge into Tannoy Kensington speakers! That is one expensive setup. Bet it sounds wonderful.

to Barry, yes, expensive setup even if 2nd hand... It is the result of a long long quest for a "like real" sound. Actually, i was looking for dynamics as i think this is a major difference between recorded and live music. But i also needed timbre quality. I've read that there is no perfect speaker but always compromise. Kensington are a very good compromise according to me.

Hello David, I have had a house in the Vendee since 2003 and try to get out there 4 or 5 times a year, just nice to get away from the ratrace here and slow down for a week or two ;)

I drank a bottle or two of red last week but not really a connoisseur though, 2 quid a bottle most of the time for me :eyebrows:
