Goldring Eroica LX on Musicosis -Because Music Matters

Hi All,

I keep seeing queries about "affordable" cartridges especially MCs, I've long liked Goldring cartridges and I have had an Eroica LX or two at Musicosis Towers and decided to have a really serious listen..... THe review is on Musicosis.co.uk (http://musicosis.co.uk) and I would be interested to hear other people's opinions.

H Paul - enjoyed your review - I have owned a couple of these cartrdiges, the first was a silver bodied example that replaced a Nagaoka MP30, when I killed the cantiolever on thta one I got another one that had the black body, so I must have liked the first one although we are going back 15 years and memory becomes hazy. I recall the second example was not quite as good as the first. One thing I recall noticing was the increase in treble quality and detial retrieval, particularly with cymbals. I've not had better since.

After a year or so I went back to MM with an Ortofon 540 Mk11, good, but it lacked the magic of the Eroica. I still have the black bodied one but could probably do with a retip.
