I am delighted to announce that RFC has teamed up with an expert manufacturer of bespoke high end furniture and between us, through RFC we will be offering the following services, effective immediately:
- Design and manufacture of very high quality Turntable plinths to customer specifications (prices based on individual quotations but from as low as £200);
- Garrard 301/401 high mass skeletal two tier plinths, with motorboard isolation: These are my own design and I will be posting pictures of the first one to be completed in the near future. Very heavy skeletal plinths available in solid oak/Maple/Red Cherry/Zebrano blockboard (40mm thick board using 40mm wide staves laminated together). Triple column supports (solid Walnut or other contrasting timber to the main plinths) individually adjustable for height to ensure exact levelling of deck. Can be cut for any arm or supplied at extra cost with various armboards. These will be true furniture grade pieces, not like the cheap imports available via auction sites. Expect prices to start at around £500 per plinth.
- Bespoke speaker stands (prices from £200), again, furniture grade materials and workmanship;
- Bespoke Hifi racks and cabinets - ditto.
Garrard Servicing:
I am now offering a complete Garrard 301/401 service. This includes spindle bearing inspection and replacement (if needed); Availability and fitting of Kokomo bearing kits (and others); motor strip down and bearing inspection/re-oiling; idler wheel check/lube/replacement, check/replacement of all springs, clean and re-greasing of linkages, electrical checks and repairs/replacement parts as necesary), re-assembly, cleaning and testing, including linkages tensioner adjustments, motor pully adjustments etc. Refurbished decks should be good for 20 years service! Please contact me for a quote, but basic servicing as above (less cost of replacement parts) starts at £150.
