It's been a heavy year with Earl Scruggs passing in March and now the sad news that flatpicking Country guitar legend Doc Watson has died too.
Doc Watson invented the modern flat picking style of country guitar playing and has been a massive influence on those who followed. He was a bridge between the old style and the crossover artists of the 60's and 70's who bought county to rock music. He will be sadly missed.
