Traveling around too much means that audio listening is mostly from the Radio (analogue FM ). But when I get to my tapes / cassettes / old stuff / whatever has come into the charity shops I try to give the things a listen. Certainly not hi-fi , indeed my Waltham Music centre needs a bit of refurbishment done on it , and I also need the correct 78 stylus for my ion turntable to do some transferring of comedy/ comic music records and early Bing Crosby / Frank Sinatra - some of the tunes on the collection of mum I am custodian of although recently added into Spotify are of indifferent quality and not of UK sources but USA recordings.
You will normally find me hanging out on 45cat.com or vintage-radio.net , but I hope to find bits of info on here as well when required , and at some time clear out some records as the space I have is smaller than the collection I have ( not that its big ). Currently really listening to swamp music and early rock'n'roll / do-wop via you tube on the laptop too - must try to work out how lastFM works as well at some time. Also like early English Baroque and quality Brass Bands.
I am aiming also to re-build my father's radiogram / amp circuits with new components and a better interface to cassette / tape / line out and alternate inputs and a somewhat better autochanger deck , but this will be when I get a bit of space and time to start and hopefully complete as the digitising of the tapes will be a priority - I have found most of the wire and connectors I need and re-discovered the soldering iron so it could be looking good though I may need a better laptop for signal processing , restoration of audio and storage.
