And when you start going from looking at individual stars to clusters, galaxies and the local group, things become so mindblowing that we can't really comprehend the sizes or distances concerned.

Indeed mind-blowing stuff. But, perhaps it's not the universe that is so big, maybe it's us who are so small. Just a thought.
