What a day. Lazed in the sun most of the day, wife made a nice salad dinner and has not nagged me to cut the grass. Off to see if there is anything cold in the fridge.....:cool:

Today is loverly, i washed all the windows this morning.. It was loverly yesterday too, we were in York for the day & was pretty much unbearable with the heat tbh..

We had a look around the Railway Museum but their was so much sun shining through the room i found it near on impossible to get an proper pictures

Yep me too - lazed around and have done bugger all! The grass doesn't need cutting, the widows are clean (not by me), the machine has done the washing, and I couldn't be bothered to wash the car.

Will 'bolt together' a massive salad for tonights meal, which will be washed down with a couple of glasses of chilled white wine. I haven't decided if it will be the Pino Grigio or the Cabernet Sauvignon. Decisions, decisions!

So enjoy The Summer - it won't last long! :lol:

Aye i loved the 20's, they were great. My Fav EE's were the Type 4 (Class 40's) Actually i was a bit hacked off as D200 was locked up & couldnt get to it.. :(

Used to sit on Doncaster station all day some weekends, You could tell when a Deltic was coming in :eyebrows:

It's not often you can say this about a diesel motor but the Deltic is a work of art... ;)

For a time I used to work at the Nene Valley Railway, they had a Deltic there... You really don't get an idea of how bloody huge that engine is until you get inside of the body of one of those things.

There is a walkway each side of the engine & it fills in the gap between each cab, I have never seen an engine as big before...

Ok, so a ship can have a bigger one & often do. But it was still seriously impressive, much bigger than the average estate car :eek:

Mutter....mumble....diesels in a bl**dy railway museum....mutter....sacrilege....disgrace....mutte r. :D

I spent a very pleasant couple of hours cooped up in the cockpit of a 2 seater AT3 aircraft, having the trial flying lesson that Mrs. B bought me for Christmas. Absolutely amazing experience and I'm strongly tempted to have a bash at my pilot's license.

Mrs. B pointed out that this was very expensive, so I retaliated by saying that it wouldn't fill up the house like my current hobby of buying turntables and large loudspeakers. I think she was almost swayed...
