Old one for me too - it looks purposeful.

Wooden side cheeks are so 70's - yuck! :D

The lettering is OK though.

Mmmmmm... pretty meters... http://www.technobear.btinternet.co.uk/emoticons/drool.gif

Visible screw heads on the front panel is a no-no http://www.technobear.btinternet.co.uk/emoticons/tsk.gif

Ha - just to be different, I prefer the new one... Wooden side-cheeks rule! I'm used to them on my vintage Sony X-777ES CDP and DAS-R1 DAC. For me, it adds to the deliberate retro look, and I like combinations of different materials.

And VU meters aren't?? :D

;)

Agreed on the screwheads, though - please lose those, pronto!

Marco.

I don't like either:mental:m:mental:Boring in the extreme. However I see that the new version sports wooden "chicks" (hover over the pic:lol::lol:)

txs for your input Guys :)

Please keep posting ,as you see it is not so easy
as it maight be looking like, but still very worth to
do in my opinion ,and obviously we will try to use
all these suggestions possible to do.Personally I
really appeciate pointing front mounting plate.
I already passed this to the designer and hope
that will be one of those changes possible to do
for good. Thabks again guys - you are stars.

Old version for me, but without the screws on the front panel :)

I'm not even sure I'd have the semicircular cutouts in the silver part of the front panel where the VU meters reside as it looks like if they weren't there, that they'd line up with nicely with the base of the VU meter viewing window.

The rest of it looks neat, but those chunks out of the silver panel just don't look right to me :eyebrows: Besides which it's less to machine & thus cheaper ;)

Much prefer the old one! Don't see the point in the wood sides  all about those by meters for me:D
