Just signed up here having found your TT forum via search. Very cool indeed. I have been messing with this crazy hobby now for over 43 years and I still find it just as exciting now as back in the day. Below you will find some current pix of my 2ch system for your viewing pleasure. Hope you approve :)

Oops, nothing like getting off to a bad start by not following posting rules. My bad. My first name is Gavin and I am primarily into rock, jazz and fusion. Guitar music pretty much dominates my collection and my system consists of the following:

Rega P3-24 w/custom plinth/Exact cart, Akai R2R, MCD500 player, Naim UnitiServe/NAS drive, C500 pre, MC501 monos, Von Schweikert VR5 Anniversaries, Velodyne Optimum 12s, MIT XLRs and Verbatim speaker cables...I think that about covers it

Welcome from the North American contingent (not that it matters really). Everyone on this forum is :mental: regardless of where they reside.

Very nice setup. I knew it was a Rega, now I know which model. Interesting take on it. I'm assuming you play music as well as listen to it.

That is a serious looking system, and a lovely looking reel to reel! Welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy it here.

Hi Gavin,
Welcome to AoS.
Is the Akai a GX-625? I've got a GX-620 which looks identical except for the tape counter.
So what sort of music is your thing?.......besides Steely Dan, that is!

Hey guys, thanks for the warm welcome. That is a GX-625 with custom side panels. I don't use is a lot for recording as it seems to have a depressed left channel when recording. Not so on prerecorded tapes so it needs a trip to the RtoR doctor.

Yep I am a big SD fan and primarily listen to rock, jazz and fusion. Anything guitar pretty much dominates my music collection. I's a sucker for good electric lead stuff. Favorite guitarists would be Frank Gambale, Buzz Feiten, Jimmy Herring and I guess Steve Lukather. I play but normally in a closet with the door shut firmly.

Yes, my system sounds at least as good as it looks...trust me :champagne:

Woweeee Gavin, thats one helluva of a rig there dude. Tell me, do your guitars, hanging on the walls, resonate/vibrate when you turn the wick up? Anyway welcome from me to The AoS, pull up a chair, turn on the PC, quaft a coldy and enjoy :)

By the way, did you buy Face Book shares :eyebrows:.

Ron..

No FB IPO for me thank you. Some of those early investors may be "diving from the 14th floor" to quote the Dan. If the guitars resonate they do so very subtly. "Quaft a coldy"?? Now I'm really confused. I've been to your fine country on numerous occasions and have yet to drink a beer that's below the pub ambient.
