At last, an antidote to some of the more ridiculously priced power cords out there, this one employing Furutech's very best connectors. Feedback from customers has been great, with a majority reporting benefits when used in their systems. From the website:
Reference Powercord
The ultimate in powercord technology and materials quality, each component has been chosen specifically for SAFETY and PERFORMANCE characteristics. The Reference Powercord has the following features:
Using only the best and latest Furutech Piezo Ceramic carbon weave IEC with earth jumper patented technology for the ultimate in ultra low loss current transfer;
Matching Rhodium plated FI-1363 Plug sharing the same superlative build quality, contact conductivity and resistance to wear and tarnishing;
The very latest Alpha 3 12AWG cable, finished in protective outer polyester weave sleeve: A well damped cable design of low impedance
Reference Fidelity Products has undertaken trials of many different powercords and found little if any performance improvement over standard kettle leads. We only stock products that we believe perform well, and this powercord in our trials proved not only to be manufactured from the finest materials to the finest standards, but was the ONLY one that during listening tests which gave any perceptible sonic improvements! In the case of the Reference Powercord, the difference was far from subtle. Sound had more presence and more detail. We don’t use shielded cable for amplifier power supply powercords because the increased capacitance is unwanted. We can however construct shielded cables to meet the needs of connecting devices with high EMI output such as CDPs and DACs, all upon request.
