For Sale: Pioneer A-676 Reference Stereo Amplifier

In great condition (see photos) and full working order with no crackles from any of the controls. Sounds great. Even the tone and balance controls sound great. Selecting the audiophilia nervosa button (aka: source direct) doesn't make very much if any difference.

Not sure of power output, only that it's substantial.

Lots of inputs. 3 loops. Phono both MM and MC.

£120 ono collected from Glastonbury

I do now have a suitable box and packing for this so I can send it within the UK mainland only for an additional £20.

Some scuffs at the rear on the right side panel. A fine black felt tip would deal with these I'm sure:

Thanks Techno, this has just popped up today. Hey techno, reckon you can offer more on the amp, in terms of it's sound quality etc. I'm stuck between this and a marantz pm 7200. Any thoughts?

My personal preference would be the PM7200 ;)

Be aware that the PM7200 generates a fair bit of heat in class A mode. It will cook anything placed above it.

I used to own one of its predecessors, the PM80, and I liked that amp a lot. I have heard a PM7200 and it sounded very good too.

The A-676 can come across as a little bright, although it is clean and clear, a bit Cyrus-like, so a little care is needed in speaker matching. Castle Conway 3 would be a good match. It's not that the A-676 doesn't have good bass. It is very good. If you have speakers that are a bit bass-heavy in your room, the A-676 could be your dream amp.
