For Sale - Mission 763 Compact Floorstander Speakers - Pristine Condition

For sale my Mission 763 compact floorstanders. These are in superb condition - barely a mark - and are fully working. Capable of producing very high volume levels with a detailed sound, these handle transients magnificently.

For someone looking for a pair of small footprint speakers, at a very modest cost, these are ideal. Finished in black, the cabinets are in magnificent shape, as are the original grilles and badges. All drive units are in full working order. The bass/middle units are actually quite a rarity now, and perform well.

I have tested these speakers' bass response, and they produce good output right down to 30hz - in practice much better extended than their published specs - see below. The bass is well controlled, and these speakers are notable in that they lack the upper bass boom of many moderate sized designs. The midrange is sweet and full, and the treble open and well extended. I have found these Missions to be particularly impressive on music which requires good transient response. They are nominally 8ohms, and high sensitivity (91db), so are an easy load for amplifiers.

I sold a pair of the big brothers of this model last year - the Mission 765s - and I can honestly say that these little chaps outperform the larger design. When I say they are little that is a comparative term - they weigh in at about 15kg each, so are quite substantial. The speakers are fitted with their original spikes, and are biwireable.

I am the second owner of these speakers, and knew the previous owner - he looked after these speakers from new like the Crown Jewels, hence their remarkable condition. They have never been abused in any way, so should have considerable life in them yet.

I am looking for what I paid for them - £80, which is very reasonable bearing in mind their excellent state. I would much prefer for them to be collected, or delivery/meet-up arranged so that they are not sent through a courier. I am prepared to send them at cost if absolutely necessary, but I have not got the original boxes, so it would need two considerable parcels at what I would think would be quite a high cost - £20 or so I would guess. Much better if that can be avoided - it would be a real shame if any damage occurred in transit.

I loved my 763's and had them for years in the 90's, if I had the room for them I would buy them for my Mini T, but alas there is nowhere for them to go :(
