I prefer baroque music, analogue sources and vacuum tubes.

My system I: vdH Colibri Platinum cartridge, Graham Phantom tonearm, Basis debut turntable with Clearaudio Syncro motor speed stabilizer; DIY phono and pre-amplifier; Graaf GM200 Power amp; Magneplanar 20.1 speakers; vdH platinum interconnect; Aural Symphonics Magic Gem v2t power cords; DIY speaker cables made with materials for superconductive purposes(though not working at superconductive temperature/state)

System II: Rohde and Schwarz BN1508 relay receiver (tuner), Audion Golden Night 300B (heavily modified with VCap copper teflon capacitors, black gate filament/cathode and B+ capacitors, stepped-ladder attenuators, WBT Nextgen silver RCA/speaker connectors), Diatone P610MA 16 Ohms, Rohde and Schwarz HS86 mains voltage stabilizer.

You have one hell of a system going on there. :stalks: Classy stuff!! I used to own the Graaf GM 100 so I can assume that the GM200 should sound sublime. Post some pictures when you get the chance!

thanks Vouk, my best friend Arthur is currently using GM100, and using an autoformer it behaves mid-way between an OTL and a transformer-coupled amplifier-------it sounds more transparent than a conventional output transformer and performs better over the entire frequency spectrum regardless of speakers' impedence changes (more stable than OTL). Hi Allan and welcome to AoS. Very nice system and of course you have access to so much equipment in HK. What design of phono amp and preamp did you build?

Thanks Martin! The Phono amp uses 2 Western Electric 437A as MC head-amp (I don't like MC transformers), 2 6DL4 and one Bendix 6900, passive RIAA, the main amplification unit is milled from one solid piece of Swiss 6061 Aluminum and one solid piece of Brazilian brass; mixed tube and solid state power supply regulators in another chassis, transformer and choke in a third chassis. As for the preamp, it is grounded-grid type similar to Transcendent Audio, I use E80CC now instead of 12AU7.

I would urge you to go there at once & put up some photos of your Rohde and Schwarz gear - especially the BN1508............pretty please!!!!

Dear Chris, every now and then I see some "elder brothers" of BN1508 in German ebay, e.g. BN15075. Most German sellers are not eager to ship that giant outside EU. I am not sure how that sounds considering the fact that it has a wider bandwidth coverage. My BN1508 does not sound good in my big system, HF tilted and lean, though it matches well with my 300B+Diatone system.
