Will I degrade the sound much with an adaptor ?

What difference would there be between a Tellurium DIN-DIN and a Tellurium Phono to Phono through an Adaptor ?

Compared a Kimber KS-1011 to a Tellurim while visiting David recently
Both out of the Naim CDX2 phono output then into a Mayware Phono-Din adaptor going into the Naim 82
The Tellurium won <cough>

Why my question ?
1. Tellurium DINs are quite a bit more than Tellurium Phono
2. I paint myself into a Naim corner. Lower resale if/when I upgrade
3. Tellurim don't do a Phono - DIN interconnect
3. I have other kit that is Phono output anyway so I will probably have to have an adaptor somehwere

Side question
Does Phono sound better than DIN or vice versa ?

Mark Grant is likely to be offering Naim compatible interconnects (including phono to BNC, phono to DIN etc) - give him a call.

It rather depends on whether you think you'll keep Naim equipment long term. Even so, I think I would buy Tellurium Q phonos and use DIN adapters. Spray with Deoxit and they should be fine. You'll still get the benefit of that superb cable and your investment is future-proofed.

P.S. after my experimenting, I'm not surprised the TQ won against the Kimber. My final Kimbers go on eBay next week!

In my experience, Naim always sound best DIN - DIN if the cables used for the comparison are the same type.

If you buy a TQ cable, there is little point in degrading it by using an adaptor and you have so much Naim kit, are you really thinking of changing it ?

I spoke to Mark on email a couple of times, then asked him to do a DIN - DIN, if I remember right - no answer
Tried again a while later - no answer

Only need an adaptor at one end, but the rest of my kit is Phono and the Naim 82 is only DIN so a big swap over to Tellurium means adaptors anyway for some inputs

My Kimber is 1 or 2 down from yours so I'm not surprised either !

I shall cover fully elsewhere, but you and at least one other have said the Rega outperforms the Naim 555 (Circa £16k)
I often take a long while to move but I do eventually.
The kit is only my route to hearing more in the music so I could sell on everything I currently have if I hear more music
