How many Watts does the Class A stage deliver in the Quad then? I know that the class B stage delivers 100W, but can't find the max power output of the class A stage.

The class A stage is taken from the driver & consists of a 47 ohm resistor. The driver also feeds the current dumping transistors. A simple calculation shows that 5W of class A power would require over 50V to be dropped accross the 47 ohm resistor.

As it looks to be rated at about 1W maximum I can't see it somehow :eyebrows:

I sold my 405 boards around Christmas on eBay (at a healthy profit), so I can't confirm if those resistors are 1 Watt or not. But I remember that much was made of the class A capability of the 405 in articles published in Wireless World.
