My Neat Motive 2's landed with me yesterday thanks to mr_phil on PFM :D

Got them set-up ASAP; removed the biwire links and added my own QED XT400 ones and plugged in the speaker cable (Chord Odyssey 2)

Fired up iTunes, my ATV2 and the Arcam amp and happily sat there from around 1600 yesterday until midnight listening to as much music as possible (everything from Fischerspooner and Massive Attack to Sting to the Commitments soundtrack etc...)

They sound absolutely brilliant; even better than when I demo'd them. They sit superbly either side of my AV unit and they're just toe'd in to make a sweet spot right at my seating position

Very impressed with them indeed :D

I've got Motive 3's. Due to a rather odd room I can't really have a pair of floor standers, but I can put a standmount behind my TV and move the TV to one side for listening. It works. I love the 3's - incredible scale for a standmount. I chose them after listening to Spendor SA1's and Totems at £1300. Instantly knew they were the ones, very good vfm, so I can imagine what those 2's are like. Enjoy.

Those look like Focal inverted Titanium domes on those speakers, no mention of anything about them on the Neat website though :eyebrows:

No real specifications ether  Ah well..

They certainly look nice though :)

I've just had a look at their website, and their approach is very unorthodox, in that they don't set out technical specs, and they seem to tune them by ear. Very odd. Evidently, they are highly rated though.

Neat do very good speakers.
I've had a few pairs of mystique 2s and they sounded great.
I still have a rare pair of petites in the loft that need mending.

Think they are one of the only companies that prefer to use there ears instead of measurements.

Just seen this... Forgot I'd posted this.

Bit of a system change around so will get fresh pics up tomorrow...

Bass? Yes, they do bass and it's bloody deep and bloody punchy too :eyebrows:

They're depth of bass really is superb but it's well timed & not muddy at all. Integrates with the midrange/treble superbly.

Music like Beastie Boys, the XX, Massive Attack, Mount Kimbie - The Motive 2's bang out the bass with aplomb :D But with music like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd et al they handle it fantastically and with prowess
