Hi all, I think I will be after a new power amp in the next month, and looking for something with low output, so I guess Valves are the name of the game.
I have just moved house and the new living room while not small, does not allow me to play at high volumes (we are talking 55dB peaks taken with my phone earlier from my seat, around 9ft from the speakers) so even with 80dB speakers like the Kolts I think it should be fine. (or the AE2's)
I used an 8w TA2020 with more than enough volume in the old house.
I really enjoyed the Consonance Cyber 10SE 8w Single Ended USB amp a couple of years ago and would like to re-visit a similar amp.
I will be using this with an Arcam AVR200 as pre-amp at the moment, so Ideally looking for a power amp at around £300 max.
All I can find new is something like the Icon Audio MP3 (£399), or a used Cyber 10SE USB. Or just go back to a TA2020 T-Amp, but I would like to try something else first.
Anything to look out for?
