Music wise i am pretty easy and do enjoy almost anything, i used to be a big Frank Zappa fan and collector, also Hendrix. I like the old 60s 70s rock classics too, but these days i generaly reach for more commercial easy listing stuff.

I am a litlle bit of a hoader of bits of oldish equipment, though nothing fancy, and have a couple of systems set up at the moment.

Living room system comprsises a Meridian 101pre with Meridans M2 active speakers, I know! a blast from the past, source is analogue, with a DIY PTP Lenco in slate plinth, with a couple of homegrown tonearms. i also use a re plinthed Thorens TD125, with outboard DIY valve phono stage in the same system.

In my basement i have a second system, which is kind of constantly changeing, at the moment amp is a Naim 32.5/140 combo, driving either some elderley Monitor audio M5s, or Celestion Ditton 33s or Ditton 11s as the mood takes me. Source again is analogue, with either another giant Slate plinthed PTP Lenco with two 12inch tonearms, or a old modded B51 Lenco also in slate plinth.

Let me say i am not a naimy, whatever that is:rolleyes: and i do believe the earth is round.

I do however love the equipment from the late 70s early eightys, but at the time i could never afford it and could only read about it in mags.

I have only just added the Naim amp to the system and got it mainly out of curiosity, I had looked at the circuitry in an effort to understand what all the fuss regarding these products was about, and it is a little primitive circuitry wise, even compared to the Meridian of the same era, but i find it does have some sonic virtues. Though as with most bits of kit its just kind of a different flavour, but the preamps two internal phono cards are very usefull when running two decks, or a twin tonearm deck So its staying, at least for now.
