For sale, XTC Pre-1 pre-amp. £300
A lovely, heavyweight, gloss fronted remote control volume pre-amp and an absolute classic. The front panel is 10mm thick alloy with a heavy, deep gloss black finish, it exudes quality and will grace any hifi rack. It uses a motorised ALPS volume control with mute fucntion. It has six inputs including one for a tape loop. The front panel and visible top panel are unmarked, there's a couple of marks on the RHS panel but nowt you can se when it's racked up.

Amplification duties are carried out by a Mosfet gain stage. The entire amp has recently been stripped and serviced, with the Output stage being biased back to spec and the power supply being treated to a brace of 10amp/300v Q-speed SIC Schotky rectifiers and the PSU smoothing caps were replaced with uprated, low ESR, 6800uf Kendeil electrolytic capacitors. It's not good as new- it's better.

How does it sound? Well it sounds bloody amazing frankly, far better than any pre-amp at this price has a right to sound.
I currently have a Krell in situ as well and the only reason that is staying is because it has a phonostsge built in. Frankly i can't tell them apart from the sound, and judging by the poll and needledrops I ran on PFM, no one else could either.

A great pre-amp at a great price, if I put it on ebay it will be priced at £50 more to cover costs, so don't miss out.
£300, inc UK delivery.
