Hi guys,
I would like to use this thread as an upgrade gallery as I just started with my hifi system. Not that I didn't want to do so earlier. It's just I didn't have enough money first, then our constant moving was a block and then Matsushita shut down Technics manufacture. But finally I managed to buy an almost new MK2 for a fair price (did see better deals, but not local ones).

So the first pic (inspired by this one (http://www.coolestphotos.com/if-technics-made-ovens.html)) shows my two hobbies together, as the living room is still not finished:

As you can see, it is a stock MK2 with Shure M97xE, but already a new cartridge and Achromat are ordered. This website did help me with a lot of decisions and inspired me in upgrading this TT, so more upgrades are to come. Later, when everything will look nicer and will be in place, I will post pics of the second TT (AR EB 101 + Linn Basik + Linn Adikt) and the rest of the system (still without speakers, using just headphones for now).

You are not familiar with the 'Gas' pre-amp range then? That is a Gas Mark 4 :eyebrows:

Finally I managed to get the 'system' together somehow. This is the first step before the room is finished, so I can enjoy some music in the evenings after work.

For the price, this cartridge is fantastic. I cannot describe the sound in the audiophile way, nor am I looking for flaws in sound, but I can tell that the higher frequencies in guitar solos are sounding much clearer. Also I can hear much more details and instruments that I didn't hear before.

I love the look of Grados, I love their sound but I hate how they fit on my head. After about an hour I can feel pain on my ears. I guess I need to find softer cushions...or let plastic surgeon reshape my ears :)
