A very warm welcome to AOS. Firstly forget about how your system compares with others on AOS! You have a really great collection of stuff. I like your Sansui gear, its very well respected. The main thing is that you get enjoyment out of your system, and thats all that matters. I think you'll find AOS a very nice place to be.

Hi Ron, first and foremost welcome to the forum, having a megabuck system is not what this forum is all about- it is not how much you throw at your system, it is the enjoyment you get from it, and that means music, a few on this forum who have downgraded systems( myself included)and enjoy their music more!:)

There's hardly anyone here who'll judge you by what you own Ron.
There's some great stuff in that system - we don't often get to see NAD receivers of that vintage (when they still put New Audio Design on the fascias) - lovely stuff.

I am one of the 'downgraders' since coming here and my enjoyment of music has increased immensely - for me it's the music that matters most.

I've been reading all your posts and really appreciate your kind words. Then I got to thinking, I hope I didn't offend anyone. I didn't mean to infer any kind of offense to those who have such beautiful systems. If I could afford it, I am sure that I would have a system of such elegance as well. (I hope you all don't mind, but I am about to ramble on about my audio history, a story that is probably familiar to all).
By the late '80's my stereo had evolved from a Realistic package system to a collection of the Dual 505-2(still own today) a Teac V2Rx cassette, a NAD 7120(still own today) and a set of JCL Canadian made bookshelf speakers. By this time, CD's were becoming all the rage, and by the mid '90's, I couldn't by lp's anywhere, and my interest in Hi-Fi slowly waned. Knowing that I wished to preserve my true analogue components, they went into secure parts of our closets and my once obsession for high quality sound gave way to Sony Playstation and movie videos on family night. The 7120 came out of retirement as a sound source for or TV and stayed that way for several years.(a sad existence for such a fine receiver). Then, about seven years ago, a friend of mine gets a hold of me and says, "have you seen the NAD 3020's on ebay for cheap?" well, I check this out and BAM!!, I'm in vintage heaven!! all the stuff that I could only dream about when it was new was now available at a fraction of the original price. So, I went a little crazy and started bidding and buying, brought my surviving gear out of the closet, scored the NAD 7060 and 7080 and the SL1401 from friends and relatives who didn't want them anymore and here I am with a room full of TT's, cdp's, amps and speakers and a wife who really appreciates the sound but thinks I am totally of my rocker. But that's OK, 'cause in the end, I really love my vintage gear, and yes, it does kick ass.:)
