The first production run for the Orbiter is completed and I took delivery of the first batch of units from the factory yesterday. Machining and tolerances are exceptional and each one goes through a second stage of production to ensure exact balance and to receive a final polish. I'll be uploading one tomorrow Nick. I'm waiting for the o-rings to be delivered for the orbiter but can upload a picture without them in place.

Thanks Nick. Yes, I've held the price at rock bottom. The nearest I could find to my product made to the same standard from the same materials was over £100. The cost of the high quality billet brass stocks used in the Orbiter is very high, so margins have to be surprisingly slender to get the product out at a very competitive retail cost. I can only do this as there are no middle men. Effectively, it's wholesale cost!

Will be instructing a new batch of these from the factory soon folks. Taking orders now for delivery in July. For those who've not yet seen these, they are RFC's very own LP stabilisers manufactured to a high standard from CNC machined solid brass which is then polished to a high sheen finish.

Great results on most TT's. Improved bass response, improved clarity and looks a million dollars! Mass is designed to flatten out warped LP's and LP surface resonance is heavily damped out. A very high quality item that also looks fabulous on most turntables.

I've just sold my record weight, partly to fund the Talk 3 cable I've just bought from you! If I buy another one, I would be most interested in getting one of yours, as it looks very nicely made and would complement the bronze platter of my deck.

My question is about the weight. Yours is a high mass design and at 880g is about twice the weight of my previous one! Is this appropriate for a bouncy deck like mine and more importantly, if there is so much weight at the centre of the disc, don't the edges of the record rise up very slightly, thus changing a different angle for the cartridge to track the disc? :scratch:

Hi Jules

It depends on the deck really. I've used it with my Gyro SE but had to re-balanced the deck first. I use it all the time with the Garrard 401 and have never had any records bow out at the edges or rise up at all. There's something wrong if your platter isn't dead flat!. LPs just get flattened and even 880g wont completely flatten a highly warped LP. Think about what a clamp does...that exerts much more force on the LP effectively coupling it to the platter but that type of fixing shouldn't (doesn't) make LPs rise up on the outside. With iyr deck you may be better off with something like the Michell clamp if unsure on the effects of weight. The orbiter works superbly with idler and direct drive non-suspended units.

I've sold out of the current batch of orbiters but once I receive interest in at least 10 units, I'll have some more made up!
