A few days off work presently, haven't spun my trusty Dual 504/AT440MLa for a month or so, so brought out a few jazz albums this morning (Ornette Coleman - Art Farmer - Bill Evans - Scott Hamilton);

Happy Days! Cant wait to do the same myself next week, a whole day to myself with the vinyl...

I done the same on Tuesday just gone, had the whole day to myself and spent it in front of the TT, it was magic.

After watching a documentry on BBC4 a week or 2 ago called "the year that Changed Jazz" I went out and bought "the shape of Jazz to Come" by Ornette Coleman so I had a few spins of that.

yeah....havn't got that LP though..:(

Might have to have a look for it now......

Two of my favs ..........I like Art Farmer to play with Yusef Lateef..bliss

and I like Bill Evans to play with.....anyone...and on his own :lol:

Got to DIG something out to play now.....;)

Ah...yes...great track, always reminds me of Peter Herbolzheimer's funkier stuff.............interesting as Peter Herbolzheimer is credited for the arranging of the Sergio Menddes track later on....but nothing mentioned about him on the Soulsides track.........it just sounds like his arranging though ;)

I 'm going to dig it out and have a listen now........and maybe Herbolzheimer's "Catfish" as well.......yeah...going to get it spinning ......Funky friday eh
