Hi,

I am from Minnesota and found this forum from a link given to me by Adam of Ecofan. I'm interested in the Boost-It 6dj8 piece. I'm interested in all the Ecofan products really.

I run
McIntosh MC75 mono-block amps
Seas Classic 3 way speakers I built by a Troels Gravsen design
Morel 12" ultimate Sub woofer I built
passive preamp.

The system being driven by a passive preamp is debatable. Some sources work well and some don't. I'm thinking one source could benefit by the gain stage of the Boost-It.

Just North of Minneapolis in Lino Lakes, MN. Lots of lakes!

The Morel 12" Ultimate Sub is excellent. Madisound of Wisconsin has a package for the driver and a nice 300 Watt plate amp. The 12" driver does require a pretty big cabinet at 4.5 cu if I'm not mistaken. With just the 300 watt driver the thing pumps out some nice rich bass and I have no regrets.

Pretty sure that that driver should be capable of more power handling than 300W, I should imagine it still uses the Hexatech voicecoil & probably in a pretty healthy size compared to the smaller drivers which appear to have a 3" voicecoil on a 5" driver :eek:

Don't worry, you are with some fellow nutcases :eyebrows: I have four of these beasties (http://www.creativesound.ca/pdf/CSS-SDX15-data-121107.pdf) to do something with ASAP & more than enough power to drive them :mental:
