Hi,

i'm Ryan aka CrashHouse.
I'm back again to quality HiFi stereo after a few years experimenting with home cinema setups. Just wasn't my thing. I started in 1991 with an old Quad 33 303 combo with DIY speakers. Then I moved to the smallest Mission speakers with a Cyrus amp. In 1993 I bought a Rotel RC 980BX and RB 980BX pre/powercombo with a cd player and Klipsch KG 4.2 speakers. In 1999 I traded the Rotels for a Marantz SR96 and wel that was the start of the homecinema adventure. In 2006 I bought a Marantz PM7200 but that one failed in 2011 and I wasn't that impressed by it's sound.

I started to take interest in DIY amplifiers and have a Hifimediy T4 build as a poweramp right now, cause tomorrow I will receive my Beresford DAC. I do still own the Klipsch speakers, but after a Bob Crites mod they just don't sound so good anymore. Highs are great, but lack of middle and to much bass is getting a problem. I bought an Audioanalyse B90 poweramp and orderd Elac FS187SE speakers but will get them not untill we are back in the Netherlands in september (now on Curacao). So although I have some time I'm trying to find out what interconnect I will use between the Beresford and the poweramp(s).
Any advise is welcome ofcourse.

Edit: Just went for the Epiphany Acoustics Atratus as reviewed on this site...

And reading this forum I know that another PSU will be on my wishinglist.

So for now it's great reading your input.

Hi Ryan, a warm welcome from me as well :) Home cinema setups are often a compromise & don't go too well with hifi systems, there are ways round this though as you'll no doubt find out on this site - given time :D

All the best to you & I hope you enjoy your stay here
