Not very much to tell...
Just to say I am glad to join this forum. I am trying to learn from you before I buy some HiFi gear, specifically a DAC.
I like "classical", "jazz" and the so called "world" music genres if one insist in classifying.
I do not have much of hi-end gear. Just enough to please my ears. This is what I use now:
- some good "I-don't-remember-the-brand" loudspeakers,
- a Fisher RS-913 stereo amp from the 80's,
- a Yamaha CDC 575 as CD-player with digital and analog outputs, and
- a 0.5 TB FLAC (CD quality) collection on an external HD directly attached to a
Mac Mini (running Slimserver) --(WiFi)--> Squeezebox duet --(analog out) --> stereo amp.
- the Mac Mini is also connected directly (digital output) to a LogitechZ-5500 5.1 THX
I am looking for a DAC to improve the sout of digital collection somehow deteriorated by the use of the analog out of the Squeezebox receiver in the Duet. ... I "believe" I can notice the difference between that and the CD source.
