Hi there!
Ive just joined the forum, so here's my first question...
I've just scripted an itch i've had for a long time and bought a lovely SME 3009R for my Thorens TD150 MkII. I haven't fitted the arm yet and there's a couple of things i'm wondering.
Do i need to have a mounting plate such as the Sound Supports one here: http://www.soundsupports.com/page13.htm
or can i do without? pros & cons?
Also, thinking about a new cart. I've been using a Denon DL160 for a while now on the Thorens arm, will it work ok in the SME? any suggestions (MM or high output MC please) for an upgrade there? can spend around 300 GBP there.
Musicwise, everything from Fleet Foxes, Feist, Joanna Newsom to Jazz.
