Good evening, I am settled on trusting my gut and going for Amphion Argon3 and Albarry M608 monoblocks, which leaves me with preamp choices as this is the most difficult for me. I enjoy an extremely *fast*, involving and slammin' sound a-la Naim but with soundstage, naturalness and 'timbre', so not Naim. ;) Choices are:
Croft Micro 25 R
Audio Note L3 "Extreme" edition (significantly better specced than M3)
These are not choices that I can home demo together, and big thanks to hifi_dave for lending his experience to shortlisting the Croft, but would appreciate your thoughts.
